Pastor Remigijus

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, we rejoice in being able to share the spiritual pearls of Grace and ministry of Kaunas United Methodist Church. We invite you to reread and to listen to these words of Apostle Paul, in the light of which we would like to share the lived- out fragments of spiritual life.

“I always thank God for you, because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in him you have been enriched in every way-in all your speaking and in all your knowledge-because our testimony about Christ was confirmed in you. Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed” (I Corinthians 1: 4-7).

The year 2010 was a year of deep rethinking about the life of the congregation and the ministries of the Church for the UMC in Kaunas. Therefore, like Paul teaches us, we are thankful to God and to each other for the gifts of Grace, by which the serving members of the congregation enrich the Church.

Kaunas UMC has put forward new criteria for the present ministries and reviewed the pastoral priorities in the life of the congregation so that the present ministries were guided and guided according the needs. Every one is invited and encouraged to join the active life of a church member according his (her) spiritual gifts. So last year was a preparatory time for the ministries of the year 2011.

We rejoice that since September 2010 a group of young people began to gather and to serve in our church. The meetings of the group are voluntarily arranged by Laurijana BudzinauskaitÄ—. The youth group gathers each week and works on different tasks. Also, the church implements the ministry of the Day Center twice a week, where children gather for their after-school activities.

The congregation received seven confessors of faith and celebrated four Sacraments of Baptism.

 God’s Peace and Grace,

Rev. Remigijus Matulaitis
