How Can I Help?

There are many churches in the United States now in partner relatioships with our Lithuanian Churches. In addtion there are also several in Europe in Germany, Sweeden and Norway. If you or your church might like to support the ministries in Lithuania there are a number of possibilities.

PARTNER CHURCH RELATIONS

These are churches willing to make a substantial long-term commitment with one of our congregations. Generally Partner Churches contribute a minimum of $4200 per year and make a three year commitment. The partnering happens in several ways. Your church is in direct connecftion with a Lithuanian Congregation, its people and pastor. Our churches in Eiguliai, Pilviskiai, Vilnius, Panavezys and Taurage are in need of additonal Partner Churches.

PARTNER WITH PASTORS

There is an opportunity for churches and individuals to support the Advance Special for Pastor's Salaries in Lithuania. We are in need of churches hat would commit a certain amount of money for a given year to go to this Advance Special so that we can increase the Pastors' salaries from their minimum level of $480-$500 per month. Other Advance Special Projects

There are a total of 12 Advance Projects that have been approved for Lithuania for 2009-2012. You can look at the variety of projects through the link with the General Board of Global Ministries. Just type in Lithuania in the search and all the Lithuanian projects will be listed.

Volunteer In Mission Projects

We have a number of VIM groups that come to Lithuania each, some for building projects, some for teaching opportunities such as VBS, and some to work with Church and Community humanitarian projects. Shortly we should have a list of projects for 2009 and 2010.

By Church Offering:

Donors can make your check payable to your local church. Write the name

of the ministry and the Advance code number on the check. Drop your gift

in any United Methodist church offering plate or give your gift to your

church treasurer, so that your church and annual conference will get

Advance credit.
